Just a brief update-
I recently became a grandmother for the 6th time. WTF?? Talk about your quantum entanglements.. oy. I was privileged to be there for her birth, and stayed in the San Francisco area for over a month. I am also unemployed, thanks to the company I worked for for over 7 years moving to Arizona. I don't do heat (because of Lupus, mainly) - and you couldn't pay me enough to live in Arizona (No offense to those that live there). SO now, I'm a stay-at-home artist. wooo-hoo.
That's about it- although, I have been drawing again, and will post pieces whenever I get around to scanning them.

Well, I'm stuck at home thanks to my bodily functions not functioning... Here I am 53 years old, and have been diagnosed with Lupus since 1999, when a mini- stroke (technical term: transient Ischemic attack) sent me to the hospital. They found I have low blood pressure, low cholesterol, and a dyslexic factor in my blood called the "lupus anticoagulant". It's dyslexic (dyslexia is a futhermucker) because in normal people, it's quite innocuous, harmless in fact. But, for someone with Lupus, it does the opposite of its nom de plume, and actually causes clotting. Sucks. I'm a redhead, full on ginger living in southern California- and I'm not supposed to be in the sun for more than 20 minutes, give or take a few minutes. Just took my medication, so I am having a brief respite from the more severe daily aches & pains, and having logged onto dA after quite a while, I've discovered that a LOT of people have discovered my gallery. It's been a while, there is a lot of stuff to catch up on, especially since my Doctor (not Matt Smith) is making me stay home and rest/get well this week. Arghh.
One photo in particular seems to be quite poplar lately (thank you Lilyas
, and others) "My Moose-a-lini" - one of my mostly Maine Coons that I've had the pleasure of sharing a home with since her birth in June of 2005. We still have her mama- "Yoda", and 2 of her sisters, "Pucca & Zoe", because we only found homes for their other 2 sisters that were worthy enough for their specialness.
THANK YOU-THANK YOU-THANK YOU!!
It makes my heart go pitter-pat to see so many favorites on several of my photos. There's still so much I have in mind, images to create, events to record, things to write down for my family, my children, my grandchildren...
I love art & photography, and when the body is willing (because my mind is always willing) I love to create - SOMETHING - and picking up my 40D is oft-times the easiest means to an end. Not all of my photos here are "Art-worthy", but I do feel they rank a little higher than "just snapshots". My awesome daughter, Kristin (and son-in-law, James) gave me not only a Canon 50mm lens, but a brand-new FULL SET of Prismacolors!!! I am so excited to draw again, and this year will be amazing, God/Goddess/Universe willing...
Okay, back to searching the treasure trove of photos I had yet to edit, for more jewels to post here- there must be at least a couple art-worthy ones in here...

Still home from work. Still feel ooky, wobbly, dizzy, and in pain. All over. I've caught up with everything on my DVR, and now that "All My Children" and "One Life To Life" are no more, I'm now watching free movies on Amazon Prime, and Hulu, and those damn movie channels I'm paying for every month. Everything but picking up a pencil/paint brush/camera/scanner.
There's an entire weekend now ahead, please pray for me, I'm inspired and feeling creative, but the body is just not cooperating. Very frustrating. Please, God- give me the strength to crate something amazing.
